 Needed: True Christian Leaders December 16, 2008
Good book. I believe this book has helped to clarify things for many who've scratched their heads and chins, wondering whether the alarms in their intuitions were right about the true state of many churches today. I enjoyed the many different quotes in the book from normal people like myself, making the book more relatable to people who've experienced the apostasy of the prophetic/charismatic movement (and movements like them). I was once a happy member of the whole movement, but after a few years, God mercifully delivered me from it all. (If I may add, my vexation isn't with those who are deceived by such moves-- not even with those who love to be deceived-- but with the deceivers who are leaders entrusted with people's souls. As 2Pet. 2 & Jude expressly say, the condemnation of these leaders "does not sleep".) Like Strom, I'm grieved with the fact that the things written in this book are true; and like Strom, I also look forward to a true 'Elijah Company'-- uncompromising men and women who will step into the ruins we call Christianity and command change, true revival, and reformation for Jesus' sake.

Every Christian should read this book... ESPECIALLY if you're Charismatic/Pentecostal. It is a REAL EYE OPENER!! The author is charismatic himself, but has essential things to say about the charismatic/revival community in America...

I am seeking healing. ANY mention in this book? 17 days and no replies!
No one has mentioned healing in true revivals in their reviews (I searched the reviews page).
So does healing occur in true revivals? Does Andrew Strom mention it?
Jesus said that that believers shall lay hands on the sick and they shall be healed. Also the believers went and preached the Gospel and the Lord confirmed it with signs following.
So without healing, part of the Gospel is missing.
Will I find ANY answers in this book?
Is there anywhere in the world where true revival is occuring where people are coming to receive healing?
And yes, I have emailed Andrew Strom (9 days ago) before I posted this and I suppose he is too busy to answer. Thats OK. That happens.

A very fair review of the Florida movement and helpful too.
I will be recommending and passing this book on to one or two pastors at least.

This book documents the phenomenon of revival among Christian people. Good historically and current as the "mess" that happened in Lakeland and beyond. A book for those who want to know the truth.
