5 out of 5 stars Perfect interlinear at last   December 13, 2008
This is my second interlinear Greek and English bible. I finished Mounce's Greek text a year ago, and decided to write about John's gospel prologue. I've been seeking more precise interlinear, I mean, even including parcing with each word. And finally this is the one.

4 out of 5 stars A must have for those who use the NASB or NIV   August 26, 2008

For those of us who actually study our bibles this is a great tool. The only thing I didn't realize is that the Greek is not numbered with the Strong's Concordance. Although if you look up a word in the back of this book you will find the Strong's number at the end of the definition. Just be aware you can't go straight from the text to a Strong's Concordance otherwise you will be looking up the wrong word.

3 out of 5 stars The interlinear translation is pretty clunky...   July 27, 2008

The interlinear translation is pretty clunky because it contains words in their normal English usage order and then again below the Greek word. For example, Philippians 1:19: "For I know for that this will turn out for my will turn out for deliverance through the your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ. This may not be what many people are looking for. Purchase accordingly.

5 out of 5 stars Great Study Resource   May 27, 2008

This interlinear is great for what it is...a study resource. It is not meant to be lugged around and taken to church. It is meant to sit on your desk and study. As such it includes the GK numbers for each Greek word, and each Greek word is parsed. It is meant for a person who is either really serious about their Bible despite having no Greek training, or someone who has a little understanding of the Greek language, but not enough to pop open a Greek New Testament and start reading.

The Greek font is wonderful compared to the old style you see in other interlinears, and the page does not feel cluttered, despite the fact that it is fully used.

Get and enjoy!
Jesus IS Lord.

3 out of 5 stars The best interlinear bible, but only as a desktop reference   March 28, 2008

With great expectations I preordered this bible two months ago, and it finally arrived last week. This bible has all the great features as advertized, but unfortunately I found it too bulky to be carried around. The fonts are also too small to read comfortably.

I hope Zondervan would consider publishing a revised version by: 1) Reducing the width of the book, use NASB only, forget about the paraphrased NIV, and 2) Increasing the size of the Greek font. If necessary, they might also consider: 3) Removing the G/K number row and the dictionary at the back, and 4) Removing the parsing info row as well. [...]
The objective is to reduce the size and to improve the portability of this excellent work. A size and weight such as the NASB Study Bible is marginally acceptable. Anything bulkier will reduce this bible to a desktop reference. With excellent bible software such as Bibleworks, Pradis, etc., I personally find little use for a desktop reference bible.

I'm giving this bible a low rating for its poor readability and portability. However, if you're looking for a Greek interlinear bible, this one might be the best one among those on the market today. Since Amazon has good return policy, you might want to order a copy and decide for yourself.
