Product Description
Evangelical success is at an all-time low. Why are so many unbelievers turning away from the message of the gospel? Doesn't the Bible tell us how to bring sinners to true repentance? Using lively anecdotes from his own experiences, evangelist Ray Comfort presents the key that unlocks the door of men's souls. If you're experiencing evangelical frustration over lost souls, unrepentant sinners, and backslidden "believers," then look no further. This radical approach could be the missing dimension needed to win our generation to Christ. Discover the secret to leading others to genuine repentance, and make each moment of your life count for the kingdom of God!

5 out of 5 stars Something Every Christian Should Read   October 4, 2008
This book is the best book on evangelism I've read, other than the updated version mentioned at the end of this review. The author, Ray Comfort, is renowned for his teachings on this subject and this was his break through work, I believe.

Ray covers the reasons why we should be "doing" evangelism, the Biblical way to do it and how to approach even a stranger and comfortably and effectively engage in a conversation of the things of God.

Ray has collaborated with Kirk Cameron in his latest efforts, using the star-power of Cameron to further the ministry. A product of that partnership is a weekly TV program and an updated version of this book, both bearing the same name, 'The Way of the Master'. I highly recommend both the TV program and the newer book.

5 out of 5 stars Witness or Else   July 17, 2008
A good book on witnessing, very encouraging and helps explain the best methods. It's all about producing fruit, but perhaps an undue emphasis on actually winning souls as the only criteria for success rather than on simply being faithfull in sharing Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit and leaving the results to God.

5 out of 5 stars Every Chrisstian should own this book   March 11, 2008
Every Christian should own this book. Or, to be more precise, every Christian who wants to be an effective witness for Christ should own this book. The book shows the most effective way to convey the gospel to nonbelievers without getting into non-productive arguments. It is simply written and enjoyable to read. Buy it for your pastor. If you're a pastor, buy it for your congregation.

4 out of 5 stars Saved from what?   February 4, 2008

The author builds his case that the reason why so many new converts (he actually says 80-90% of converts from crusades) fall away from their new faith is that they were not told the whole counsel of God as to why they should become Christians. They were told that they should try Christianity because it will make their lives better; it will help them achieve peace and have a happier marriage and all the rest. But they weren't told what the Bible teaches: that the only way to escape the wrath to come is to embrace Christ who will take their punishment for them. So when things don't go the way they had hoped, they are disillusioned and embittered toward Christianity for not delivering what was promised. Telling people that they stand condemned before the Law of God is not pleasant, but that is the only way people will see their need for a Saviour.

This book is better that I thought it would be. It is thought provoking and convicting (for me anyways) as it goes beyond teaching the function of the Biblical Law, to speaking to Christians who are not demonstrating a heart for the lost by engaging in personal evangelism. We have a thousand excuses, don't we, for not getting into the game as it were. The reasons can be pretty strong and deep rooted, and should drive people such as myself to my knees in prayer for deliverance from my fear and inactivity.

1 out of 5 stars A very Biblical, but not Biblically correct book, and there's a BIG difference   January 10, 2008

The author's heart is most certainly in the right place. Unfortunately the message he brings, is not. Those that think we need to preach hell fire to win those Jesus gave up His life for will love this book and will only be reinforced into their legalism. Sadly, many of those people will be the very ones that hear those dreaded words, "depart from Me, I never knew you". It is blatantly obvious the author knows his Bible, it is not so obvious that he knows the AUTHOR of the Bible. In a sad twist, the Bible actually talks about these very kinds of people in so many places, but the legalist is famous for picking and choosing the scriptures he chooses to believe, ignoring the ones that utterly contradict his ideology. and cursing to hell all those that try to bring the light of the Gospel of GOOD NEWS into their souls. There is a way that seems right to a man, but that way leads to death. This book will show you that way of death clearer than probably any other book in existence. This book brings much death, but Jesus, brings LIFE!
